About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative blindness for which currently there is no cure. I was told that I would be completely blind by 50, with no hope to retain vision. I am currently 52, and still have most of my eyesight. I credit this by living the Primal lifestyle of low inflammatory eating, exercising, plenty of sleep and keeping my stress levels low. Eyes don't have much in the way of defense systems, and can be attacked by free radicals and oxidation very easily. I want to help others slow down their vision loss through eating whole foods, and living in an anti-inflammatory style.
My other challenges in life have been lessening my GERD, and also gracefully aging while transitioning from perimenopause to menopause. I'd love to help others overcome these challenges as well, through small behavior changes.
